IBMA and Foundation Complete Merger

International Bluegrass Music AssociationNashville, TN -- The International Bluegrass Music Association, Inc. and the IBMA Foundation (formerly the Foundation for Bluegrass Music Inc.) have officially merged into a single organization. The merger recognizes and formalizes the historic relationship between the two organizations and will help to strengthen coordination of their fundraising and operations.

Bluegrass Band Nightflyer Signs with Pinecastle Records

NightflyerBluegrass band Nightflyer has signed with Pinecastle Records for a 2018 album. It will be the band's third album and debut for Pinecastle. To celebrate, the band is releasing a Christmas song "Oh Holy Night" as a free download on their website.

Old Settler's Music Festival Moving to New Lockhart Site

Old Settler's Music FestivalAustin, Texas -- The Old Settler's Music Festival will move to a new site starting with the April 19-22, 2018 festival. The 30-year-old organization was surprised and disappointed to receive a letter on Aug. 8 from Scott Roberts, owner of the Salt Lick Barbecue Pavilion in Driftwood, informing the board that the property would not host the festival in 2018. The festival has been held on that site and the accompanying Camp Ben McCulloch since 2002.
