IBMA Guitar Player of the Year Molly Tuttle on WoodSongs

WoodsongsMolly Tuttle is the first woman in the 27-year history of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Awards to win Guitar Player of the Year. She’s a virtuoso multi-instrumentalist and award winning songwriter with a distinctive voice, appeared on A Prairie Home Companion and at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, was featured on the cover of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine, and won first place in the prestigious Chris Austin Songwriting Competition at Merlefest. New Coon Creek Girls Performing Feb. 27th at Stage 123

New Coon Creek GirlsThe WoodSongs Dalton 2016 Concert Series will host the New Coon Creek Girls, a Kentucky based bluegrass band, and singer-songwriter Kathy Reed at 7 pm on Saturday, February 27 at Stage 123 in downtown Dalton, Georgia. The New Coon Creek Girls were formed in 1979 by John Lair, the founder of the radio program The Renfro Valley Barn Dance, with the intention of carrying on the traditional music that was played by the original "Coon Creek Girls" on his famous program from 1930's-1960s. It didn't take long for Mr. Lair to see that the New Coon Creek Girls' talents would take them far beyond the walls of Renfro Valley.

Becky Buller Headlines 2016 WoodSongs Dalton Concert Series

Becky BullerThe WoodSongs Dalton Coffee House Concert series will be percolating again in 2016. The return of the concert series will feature national and regional Americana music, providing the North Georgia area with family friendly music while benefiting Providence Ministries. The series will consist of three concerts scheduled for the last Saturday of January, February, and March 2016. The first concert will feature the award winning singer/songwriter, fiddler, clawhammer banjo picking Becky Buller with the Becky Buller Band and the highly acclaimed guitar virtuoso Hiroya Tsukamoto on Saturday January 30, 2016.

MilkDrive Earns Acclaim, Performing at RockyGrass, ACL Music Festival

MilkDriveAustin, TX -- MilkDrive, Austin's alt-folk-progressive acoustic string band, released its debut studio album, Road From Home produced by Bil VornDick (Alison Krauss, Bela Fleck), in April. The band has been touring since the release, and will perform at upcoming festivals RockyGrass and Austin City Limits Music Festival.
