Rebel Records Releases New Single From Big Country Bluegrass

Bluefield West Virginia BluesCharlottesville, VA -- Rebel Records is thrilled to announce today’s release of “Bluefield West Virginia Blues,” the new single from Big Country Bluegrass' upcoming third Rebel album, Country Livin' (REB-1858). The rollicking number was co-written by Tom T. and Dixie Hall and Troy Engle and is one of two Tom T. & Dixie compositions on the project. These songs are particularly poignant, given the recent passing of Miss Dixie in January. "Miss Dixie was a dear friend who loved and supported our music so much," notes Big Country Bluegrass founder and leader Tommy Sells. "Her wonderful contributions, not only to us but to bluegrass music as a whole, were beyond measure."

Foot Stompin' Friday with Wayne Henderson at Carter Fold

Wayne HendersonHiltons, VA -- Wayne Henderson’s top-notch finger-picking is a source of great pleasure and pride to his friends, family, and neighbors in Grayson County, Virginia. His guitar playing has also been enjoyed at Carnegie Hall, in three national tours of Masters of the Steel-String Guitar, and in seven nations in Asia. In addition to his reputation as a guitarist, Henderson is a luthier of great renown. He is a recipient of a 1995 National Heritage Award presented by the National Endowment for the Arts. He produces about twenty instruments a year, mostly guitars; he is almost as well-known for the mandolins he has made. Doc Watson owned a Henderson mandolin. Friday, September 12th, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. the Carter Family Fold in Hiltons, Virginia, will present a concert by both an old time band and a bluegrass band - Wayne Henderson and Friends with Big Country Bluegrass.
